There are different types of hypnotherapy, and different ways of hypnotising someone.
First, you'll usually have a talk with your therapist to discuss what you hope to achieve and agree what methods your therapist will use.
After this, the hypnotherapist may:
lead you into a deeply relaxed state – most people feel refreshed and relaxed
use your agreed methods to help you towards your goals – for example, suggesting that you do not want to carry out a certain habit
gradually bring you out of the trance-like state. Most people feel refreshed and relaxed
You're fully in control when under hypnosis and do not have to take on the therapist's suggestions if you do not want to.
Holistic counselling undoubtedly has many benefits. Choosing to talk to a trained counsellor allows you to be more honest and open than you would probably be with your friends and family, it also allows you to see your thoughts from a different perspective, talking out loud, allows you to observe your problems with some distance and perhaps see another way to view your challenges.
Holistic counselling improves well-being, sharing problems with a counsellor can result in deeper sleep, more energy and elevated feelings of positivity, it also encourages self-awareness and reflection, when examining your emotions with another person, you can often experience some beneficial insights.
Inner Child Therapy focuses on the core beliefs that we hold about ourselves, about others and about the world around us. These beliefs are learned during our early childhood when we are young, and do not possess the ability to determine whether the information we are basing our beliefs on is correct or not.
